We welcome media inquiries about the regulation of physicians and surgeons in BC.
Media requests
News media should email requests directly to the ºÚÁÏÉç’s communications and public affairs department or through the online form.
This inbox is monitored Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays).
What to expect after submitting a media request
Once a request has been received, the communications and public affairs team will gather information, respond to inquiries, coordinate interviews where appropriate, and direct journalists to helpful resources if a request is out of the ºÚÁÏÉç’s scope.
Here are some things to note when determining if your request is within the ºÚÁÏÉç’s scope:

- The ºÚÁÏÉç has no jurisdiction over health-care spending, including physician human resourcing and the administration of hospitals and health authorities.
- The ºÚÁÏÉç can only comment on matters related to the regulation of the practice of medicine. This includes oversight of non-hospital (private) facilities and diagnostic facilities.
- Physicians on staff serve in administrative roles and cannot provide a medical opinion on a clinical health matters.
