On October 13, 2021, the ������ posted a proposed addition to the Bylaws under the Health Professions Act, RSBC 1996, c.183, specifically, Part 10 (sections 10-1, 10-2, 10-3, 10-4, and 10-5). The addition of Part 10 is to allow hospital operating rooms in BC to use anesthesia assistants (AA) as “physician extenders” to provide team-based anesthesia care to patients. ������ registrants and other interested parties were invited to review and comment until January 13, 2022. Upon the conclusion of the three-month posting period, the ������ Board met to consider the responses. Following deliberation, the Board resolved to amend the proposed Bylaws.

The revised proposed bylaw amendments will be posted for a two-week period, providing ������ registrants and other interested parties the opportunity to review and comment.
