Join a committee
Committee members are integral to ensuring the ºÚÁÏÉç delivers on its mandate to protect the public through effective regulation of the medical profession. They help maintain public confidence in ºÚÁÏÉç proceedings and ensure standards are being met.
British Columbians are invited to contribute their knowledge, skills and expertise by sitting as members of ºÚÁÏÉç committees. All ºÚÁÏÉç committees are comprised of registrant and public members.

Recruitment
To recruit committee members, the ºÚÁÏÉç uses an open call process that is fair and transparent, where applicants are selected according to their alignment with identified competencies and other selection criteria. The process is conducted by the Nominations Committee to ensure a skilled slate of potential candidates is presented to the Board for annual appointment at its May meeting.
The ºÚÁÏÉç is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. At this time we are actively seeking applicants from the following priority groups:
- Indigenous individuals, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis
- Individuals with lived experience as a member of a historically underrepresented community (e.g. racialized individuals, persons with disabilities, persons who identify as 2SLGBTQ+)
