The 2023 annual licence renewal process is now available by logging in to the registrant portal. The deadline for renewal is February 1, 2023, 11:59 p.m. PST.

The ºÚÁÏÉç will be closed for the holiday season on the following dates.

The ºÚÁÏÉç is currently in the process of creating a public resource that outlines what is acceptable for a physician or surgeon to advertise to the public, and the rules they must follow when doing so.

On November 27, 2022, the BC government announced plans to increase the number of international medical graduates (IMGs) practising in BC by

• expanding the program,
• introducing a new associate physician class of licensure that will allow for some IMGs who are not

Section 1-15(3), section 2-7, and Part 2, Section B of the ºÚÁÏÉç Bylaws have been updated, effective November 28, 2022.

On October 19, 2022, the BC Minister of Health introduced new legislation to replace the Health Professions Act, the umbrella statute by which the government has established a common regulatory system for the province's health professions.

Dr. Gustavo Jose Carvalho has been issued a disciplinary citation pursuant to section 33(4) of the Health Professions Act.

On November 2, 2022, the ºÚÁÏÉç Board approved amendments to the Bylaws under the Health Professions Act, RSBC 1996, c.183, specifically related to registration.

Dr. Rafet Jhameel has been transferred to the Conditional – Disciplined class of registration.

The Advertising and Communication with the Public practice standard has been updated and on October 21, 2022, was endorsed by the Executive Committee for publication.
