The ºÚÁÏÉç Bylaws have been updated to introduce a framework for licensing and regulating of physician assistants (PA) to respond to the urgent need to resource emergency departments in the province.

The ºÚÁÏÉç Bylaws have been updated, effective October 5, 2023.

On the third annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, employees and board and committee members at the ºÚÁÏÉç are remembering and honouring the victims and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

The Ministry of Health has asked that the ºÚÁÏÉç advance a licensing and regulatory framework for appropriately qualified physician assistants to work under the delegation and supervision of physicians in emergency department settings in BC.

The ºÚÁÏÉç of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia held its 2023 Annual General Meeting virtually on September 22, 2023.

Over the last year, the ºÚÁÏÉç has continued to see an increased volume of questions from registrants related to its registration and licensing processes, especially regarding new classes and pathways to licensure. To provide an update and answer questions, the ºÚÁÏÉç hosted a webinar on Friday
